TOEFL
 

The TOEFL is required to evaluate the English proficiency of non-native speakers of English who wish to study in colleges and universities where English is language of instruction. TOEFL scores are used by more than 3500 institutions in the United States and Canada.

For many of these institutions, TOEFL scores are required to be sent with your application. TOEFL scores also might be requested for employment in some companies where advanced English language skills are needed.
TOEFL Exams are Computer-based (CBT). TOEFL is scored out of 300 points, and the essay section is scored on the scale of 0 to 6.
The TOEFL score is valid for two years.

1. Listening Comprehension:
Listening Comprehension section is always first in the examination and it is in three parts.
It typically lasts 40 to 60 minutes and contains 50 questions.
This section tests your ability to understand and interpret spoken English.
 
• Part A: Short Conversations between two speakers. At the end of each conversation, a third voice will ask a question about what was said.
 
• Part B: Longer Conversations between two speakers. At the end of each conversation, a third voice will ask a question about what was said.
 
Part C: Oral Readings on any subject. There are several questions about each reading or conversation.
 
Structure and Written Expression section tests your ability to recognize formal written English.
It includes two question types:
 
Structure: This section typically last 15 to 20 minutes and contains approximately 20 questions.
 
Written Expression: This section is of 30 Minutes and contains 1 essay topic. Reading Comprehension section tests your ability to understand, interpret, and analyze reading passages on a variety of topics. The section contains approximately 45 questions, and you will have 70 to 90 minutes to complete it.
